Lisa Montague will be reunited with designer Stuart Vevers when she joins luxury brand Loewe as chief executive later this year.
Montague, who left her role as chief operating officer of Mulberry earlier this month, will head up the Spanish leather goods and accessories house Loewe, which is part of the LVMH Group. She is expected to take up the role in September.
Montague previously recruited Stuart Vevers to design for Mulberry in 2005. He left to join Loewe as creative director in 2007.
She will join Vevers in Loewe’s Madrid offices where she will report to Pierre-Yves Roussel, chief executive officer of the LVMH fashion division.
Montague replaces Alberto Puyol, who left Loewe last year. Loewe has recently been a strong performer for LVMH, whose like-for-like sales for its fashion and leather goods division were up 4% in the first quarter of 2009.
