Management rejig at New Look + video of first TV ad

New Look has promoted Will Kernan to group managing director (owned stores), overseeing its entire network of company-owned stores.

Kernan, who previously looked after the high street chain’s shops in the UK and Republic of Ireland as UK managing director, will take charge of stores in France, Belgium and Holland. He has been charged with developing a group trading and operations strategy across all of New Look’s company-owned stores.

International director Michael Lemner has been appointed group managing director for franchise, developing markets and Mim, New Look’s French value fashion chain.

The changes have prompted a reshuffle of management beneath Kernan and Lemner. Pat Lee, who joined New Look from Next last year, has been promoted to group operations director. UK and Republic of Ireland retail director Jo McWilliams has been appointed country director (UK/RoI). Xavier Wilmes has been promoted to country director (France/Belgium).

Kernan said: “This will allow New Look to more effectively provide a consistent group operating framework, while supporting local trading needs as we roll out our stores.”

New Look has 612 UK and RoI stores and 25 in France and Belgium, plus franchises in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Russia.

Separately New Look launched its first television advert as a trial in the Midlands last week. Watch the video to see the full advert.
