Chris Foster-Orr
Managing director, FOS Fashion Marketing
“In my job you need to be logical and organised, have great people skills and be a team builder. I worked in Selfridges, menswear retailer Lord John and Olympus Sports before crossing onto wholesale with InWear-Matinique and later with Sand. I started my own retail business – Cottons Clothing Company – which I later sold and then started FOS in 1999. Because I’ve worked on both sides of the business I have a good perspective on it and understand and relate to retailers. I’d advise anyone who is ambitious in the industry to do that – it’s a great way to build up knowledge. I’ve always worked hard and been self-motivated and I’m a great believer in the saying that you only get out what you put in.”
