Jane O’Shea, 24
Shipping manager, All Saints
The combination of fashion and logistics is what makes Jane O’Shea tick. She joined All Saints as production/shipping assistant three years ago, from French Connection, but within three months found herself promoted to shipping manager.
“I really was thrown in at the deep end, but I had really good support within the business and from all the people I have to deal with outside.”
It is the constant new challenges that make O’Shea’s job rewarding, including the growth in the size of All Saints and the launch into the US, which has compelled her to learn a whole new set of import and export skills.
She says: “When I started the business was still quite small, and I loved working with the product, as well as the deadlines. The launch into the US has been a challenge in itself. 2009 was a long year at All Saints – I’ve had to be here until midnight sorting things out – but hard work pays off.”
All Saints chief executive Stephen Craig says: “Over the past three years Jane has progressed from a shipping assistant in a business turning over £20 million in the UK to a shipping manager in a business turning over in excess of £150 million globally. She has made this progression with minimal guidance but with an abundance of enthusiasm, dedication, intelligence and loyalty. Jane is a key part of the All Saints supply chain now and in future.”
