Louise Kluka

Starting her fashion career as an allocator for Kaliko, Louise Kluka went on to Bay Trading as an assistant merchandiser and then to Bhs as assistant merchandiser level three on kidswear.

The big change came for Kluka when she moved to Dublin as a junior merchandiser at Irish fashion multiple A-Wear. She says: “I have developed so much since I have been here, not only on a personal level with relocating to a country where I knew no one, but with implementing processes and different ways of working and adapting to an international customer.”

Kluka was just 28 when promoted to merchandiser, a role that proved challenging. “It was a huge learning curve going from junior merchandiser to full merchandiser, but being involved with the strategy and planning process is great. I love working alongside the buyers – range building and seeing the fruits of our labour going into stores – and achieving high return on sales.”

And what makes her love A-Wear? “Each week is different,” she says. “There is always a deadline you are working towards. You can never get bored as you are constantly working on three seasons at any one time.”
