The most willing victim for this glossy attack is the black shoeboot. The resultant hardwear look – which veers from patent panels on matte shoes at Debenhams to oversized zips up the side of boots at French Connection and big gold buckles strapped across the top at LK Bennett – will fit perfectly into autumn's New Goth trend.
