Although this look has been around for the past three seasons, it seemed to stronger for autumn 08 because it left its casualwear emphasis behind and made the jump into a greater number of girlswear ranges. Blazers, often stripy or else sporting a contrast colour trim or a collegiate patch on the breast pocket, were particularly strong.

Argyle patterns featured across boys' and girls' wear on knits and jerseys. The look was styled on the catwalks with a bow tie for boys and long scarves and often a school beret and knee-high argyle socks for girls.
