Shiny

Shine in different fabrications was evident across most collections at Pitti Bimbo. The look has moved on from metallics to something more subtle, although there were still plenty of Lurex yarns around to add lustre to knitwear. At the premium Italian brands satin, patent leather or PVC were used either all-over or as a trim, and also featured on accessories, particularly boots and shoes.

Even sequins were reflective to give off a mirror shine. In other collections there was a glaze on silks and cottons, as seen at Cacharel. On streetwear it was most obvious in the urban ski look, where jackets were often given a lacquer-like sheen.
