Grey
Yes, it's still here and out in force, so the message is work with it. Brands at Pitti went all out in their quest to update grey, the dominant background colour story of the past few seasons, with many offering the shade in different fabrications. The emphasis was on pick and mix rather than all-over texture. Jackets came in velvet, tweed or wool flannel – the key was to layer varying tones and texture.
Shirts and ties were paired with fine knits under tailored jackets and overcoats to add interest to what is essentially last season's colour.
