New proportions
The most directional look on the autumn horizon found designers inflating suits to exaggerated proportions. Championed by Bottega Veneta, Comme Des Garçons, Dries Van Noten and Yohji Yamamoto, among others, the new silhouette had jackets flaring out subtly from narrow shoulders. It was a looser, more commercial silhouette that looked all the more fresh post-skinny.
