Dip Dyes
Bohemian influence was again evident this season, this time coming through via dip dye effects on jersey, silk satins and chiffons. The look ranged from unsubtle tie-dyed T-shirts reminiscent of the hippy 1960s, through to more sophisticated evening frocks. Tone-on-tone dip dyes offered an easy entry into the trend, as did dresses which confined the effect to their hemlines, while younger brands experimented boldly using several colourways or adding extra embellishment such as sequins and jewels at the neckline.
