Painterly
Having dominated the spring 08 catwalks, painterly prints get a more commercial outing for spring 09. From oversized florals in drenched out watercolour effects and abstract styles to more defined 1950s art inspired prints, what unifies this look is its dramatic use of colour. Perhaps the most important silhouette for painterly prints was also one of the most surprising returns at Pure, the maxi dress, which provided the background for a spectrum of hot holiday shades.
