Topshop leads with a Eley Kishimoto-inspired theatrical theme this season, with harlequin and play card print dresses in satins, silks and chiffon, pom poms and clown ruff collars, and plenty of glitter encrusted embellishment. The lace overlays seen at Prada offer a gothic twist to A-line dresses, while a punky story of snake and leopard print blouses and slouchy T-shirts, puppy tooth pencil skirts and oversized mohair knits offers edgy cool. Fringing, tassels, diamante and pearls all feature as key embellishment details, while trapeze shapes, military details and flared sleeves are important on coats. 

Right for the market?
Topshop stands out from autumn's sea of ruffled blouses and new boho by picking up on some of the more unusual looks from the catwalks. It is this ability to create an directional offering that is on-trend yet still distinctive from the rest of the high street which will keep Topshop ahead of the game in the young women's market for another season.
