Verdict: Well considered merchandising and pristine presentation lift the refined product to new levels

Looks - 8

Karen Millen offers a typically polished take on trends this season. Dip dye is worked into a classic jersey wrap dress, florals feature in monochromatic patterns on A-line skirts and shirt dresses are feminised in shades of coral and aqua.

Karen Millen has continued its fashion take on workwear, with a tweed waistcoat and button-down skirt combination looking sophisticated and distinctive. Pleated sleeves add details to cotton blouses and a yellow knit with little mini bows running up the sleeves shows the retailer's more playful edge.

Mix - 7

There isn't a particular lean towards any product grouping for Karen Millen's casual area this season, with day dresses and separates quite evenly matched.

Smock tops are merchandised alongside denim, tapered cotton trousers and A-line skirts, while there is a small holiday section at the back of the store which features kaftans and loose cotton tops in bright hues.

Store - 9

Karen Millen stores are always immaculately presented, and this one is no different. There is acres of space inbetween the product, which keeps the store feeling fresh and airy, and the colour grouping makes it easy to navigate.

Matching bags and footwear are merchandised directly with their accompanying clothing, offering a no-brainer when it comes to add-on sales. Huge floor-to-ceiling mirrors give an added feeling of space.

Value - 7

The Karen Millen customer knows that they pay more for quality here, and the prices are definitely the upper end of the contemporary sector.

Day dresses come in at around £140 for a big bloomed bandeau style and the popular Missoni-esque knit dress is presented again, in more summery shades of lime, aqua and orange for spring.

A satin slip-like dress falls just right, and is adorned with bows to justify its £140 pricing. Suit separates are well placed at £99 for each of the aforementioned tweed waistcoat and matching skirt.

deleen-sabbah-karen-millen• Are you a regular shopper here?
Yes, I shop here regularly.

• What does this shop mean to you?
It's very classic. The style is so defined, it's a very reliable place to shop; you know you will find what you want.

• How impressed are you with this season's offerings?
It's very strong this season. There are a lot of florals, and I love the pastel colours it's doing; peach, pink and aqua. There are some gorgeous dresses, and some long knitted sweaters I really like.

• What is it they're doing well?
The shoes are really nice; there was a pair of green heels I loved, and lots of wedges which will be good for summer. I also like how lots of the shoes have matching bags, for that ladylike, pulled-together look.

• What have they missed out that you would have liked to have seen?
I don't think anything was missing. Karen Millen is a shop that really knows its customer.
