Halston's creative director is understood to have left the business

Marco Zanina, the creative director hired by Tamara Mellon to relaunch Halston, is understood to have left the business after 12 months.

Halston, which enjoyed huge popularity in the 1970s, was bought by Harvey Weinstein and Jimmy Choo director Tamara Mellon last year. The duo appointed Zanini from Versace, to help re-ignite the Halston business. His first collection for autumn 07 was a hit at Net-a-Porter.com which made selected items available to customers just 24 hours after the catwalk presentation.

Reports indicate that Zanini has already designed the spring 09 collection which will be showcased at New York Fashion Week but that Halston is already seeking a new creative director.
