Creative director Ronald van der Kemp's second clothing collection for Wolford has been developed to take the label in a premium direction.

Known primarily for hosiery and bodywear, the brand's spring 09 womenswear range offers sophisticated 1970s- and 1980s-inspired trends. Gently draped fabrics follow the shape of the body, while a sporty interpretation of the safari look adds a contemporary edge. Tailoring comes via city shorts, summer trench coats and cropped trousers.

Some dresses have leather details on collars, while fabrics include silk, cotton blends, wool and Lurex. A classic palette of white, cream and sand is given depth by olives and browns, which are lifted by soft pastels.

Tailored pieces include sharp bolero jackets and a broad range of trousers in various silhouettes from wide leg shapes to more slimline options.
