Frederick Lukoff will join Stella McCartney as chief executive in February

Stella McCartney has appointed former Lanvin retail director of business development Frederick Lukoff as chief executive and president of the luxury brand.

Frederick Lukoff, who will join Stella McCartney, which is owned by the Gucci Group, on February 23, replaces Marco Bizzarri. Bizzarri will leave to become president and chief executive of the Gucci-owned Bottega Veneta brand.

Designer Stella McCartney said: "I'm thrilled Frederick is joining the company. I look forward to building the brand together to the next level."

Robert Polet, president and chief executive of Gucci Group, said: "We are delighted that Frederick Lukoff is joining Stella McCartney. He has a proven track record in developing luxury brands and I am certain that with his experience and talent he will be able to build on the brand's successes to date."

Stella McCartney bust the £1 million profit barrier for the first time this year.
