Swedish fashion giant H&M is teaming up with Comme des Garcons founder Rei Kawakubo for its designer collaboration this autumn.
Kawakubo will design a women's and men's collection, along with a few kidswear pieces and accessories. The collection will launch at the opening of H&M's second store in Tokyo, Japan at the beginning of November. It will launch in other countries a few days later.
Kawakubo said: "I have always been interested in the balance between creation and business. It is a dilemma, although for me creation has always been the first priority. It is a fascinating challenge to work with H&M since it is a chance to take the dilemma to its extreme and try and solve it."
Comme de Garcons, which was established in 1973 now produces 14 different brands with shops in more than 25 countries.
