Italian sportswear giant Fila is introducing a series of one-off Matchday jackets customised by celebrity Fila fans.
Popularised in the 1980s by touring football supporters, the classic green Matchday jackets have been given a makeover by indie rockers The Enemy, Hard-Fi and The View, plus TV and radio presenter Dave Berry, actors Danny Dyer and Tamer Hassan, plus some UK artists.
A few items were auctioned at Fila's Covent Garden pop-up store last week, with the rest to be auctioned on eBay. All proceeds will be donated to children's sports charity Sparks.
As well as signing a five-year deal to be the official footwear brand at the Wimbledon tennis competition, Fila has invested £100,000 into further tennis marketing.
The brand has signed up for two years as official clothing and footwear partner of The Artois Championships, and for three years as clothing and footwear partner to the Fortis Classic. Both events are in London.
