Young fashion brand Firetrap has hired a new brand director to help build its global business.

Sors Bos will join Firetrap in September from Nike to oversee product distribution, sourcing, sales and marketing strategy.
Firetrap has been without a brand director for two years. Bos will be responsible for increasing its focus on denim and driving new business in overseas markets.

Pan Philippou, chief executive of Firetrap's parent company World Design and Trade (WDT), said: "Firetrap is a solid business in the UK and Sors has been brought on board to make the company more elastic to enable it to grow internationally. He has an outlook on the international market and the right international connections."

Firetrap has also hired Amy Roberton as denim designer from premium denim brand Superfine. Roberton has also worked at Gap and will spearhead denim development at the brand.

Philippou has also recruited Mark Ashby as the new head of human resources for WDT, which also owns the Sonneti and Fullcircle brands. Ashby joins from coffee giant Starbucks. Philippou said: "We are building the talent pool to give us the ability to grow a truly global brand."
