Young fashion brand Lipsy is to open its first standalone store in London's Brent Cross shopping centre to support its international expansion plans.
The company will use the store as a brand showcase to lure potential international partners. It is hoping to launch shop-in-shop concepts in Germany, Russia and Spain.
Lipsy, which is popular with celebrities and footballers' wives alike, will unveil the 1,700sq ft store at the north London centre in October, but managing director Jeremy Stakol stressed that the brand had no plans to open more stores in the UK.
"We are not a retailer but we have an opportunity to increase our business abroad and partners need to see the brand experience within a concept," he said.
Brent Cross shopping centre was chosen for its close proximity both to central London and the brand's warehouse.
Lipsy is also planning to launch in the US later this year and will open a dedicated US head office in New York. It has held talks with potential partners in the country.
Lipsy has 300 UK and European stockists, including department stores Selfridges and Brown Thomas in Dublin. The company also has concessions with Topshop, Fenwick and House of Fraser. It operates 25 concessions.
