Bread & Butter show organiser Karl-Heinz Müller is set to open a denim and branded fashion independent in Berlin, called 14 oz, to help showcase his vision for the exhibition.
The store, which will be situated in an 18th-century building in Neue Schönhauser Str. 13, will stock an eclectic mix of men's and women's brands stretching from commercial accessible price point labels through to vintage product and top-end denim lines, with some jeans retailing at £600.
Brands to be stocked at the store will include Cacharel, Levi's, G-Star, PPRS, Wrangler, Seven For All Mankind, Bensimon, Paul & Joe Sister, Canada Goose, Nigel Cabourn, Notify, Nudie Jeans, Spring Court, Converse and Trickers.
Müller, who was originally an independent retailer in Cologne before the success of Bread & Butter forced him to close the store because of pressures on his time, said the Berlin shop would act as a taster for the Bread & Butter fair.
He added that while not all of the brands that will be stocked in the store would be on show at the Barcelona streetwear exhibition, he was already having conversations with these brands about bringing them into a new and more exclusive area at B&B called LOCK, which stands for Labels Of Common Kin.
Müller said this would be a selective, invitation-only area accommodating between 50 and 60 brands at next season's fair, which was likely to be situated within Pavillion 2 at the Fira Barcelona venue.
