Sir Philip Green eyes Chinese market

Sir Philip Green, the retail tycoon and owner of Topshop, is understood to be mulling taking the young fashion chain to China.

According to reports, Sir Philip Green is planning to sign a deal to rent space for Topshop in the Shanghai Superbrand mall. Green is also said to be eyeing other locations for stores in Bejing and Hong Kong.

Green is understood to want to capitalise on his collaborative collection with Kate Moss in the country and reports suggest he has asked her to spearhead the Chinese launch.

According to The Daily Mail, Kate Moss could earn up to £25 million by taking her range for Topshop to China through the sheer volume of potential sales in the country. China's population is 22 times greater than that of the UK.

When asked about the emerging deal Green told the newspaper: "Nothing has been confirmed yet."
