97. Wendy Hallett, founder, Hallett Retail

Wendy Hallett

Position last year: 85

Whether it is attending various industry awards and networking events, conferences or running exclusive retail networking event The Twenty Club, there can be few people in the sector that don’t know, or know of, entrepreneur Wendy Hallett. Oh, and did we forget to mention that she also runs a highly successful concessions business?

2015 has been yet another year of success for Hallett Retail, which turned over in excess of £10m according to its latest accounts up to 30 August 2014. Last year Hallett invested in two logistics sites to offer its concession partners a one-stop-shop solution that includes delivery capability and photography for online products. Hallett says this has enabled the business to grow this year, during which a photographic studio has also been developed at the warehouse to provide ecommerce photography for etailer Stylist Pick, among others.

In her spare time, Hallett has continued her work with the Women’s Business Council, tackling key areas such as the gender pay gap, and the Fashion Retail Academy, where she presents master classes and offers students work placements.
