Pablo isla, chairman and ceo, inditex (1)
Under Pablo Isla, who has been chief executive since 2005, Inditex has more than trebled its revenues, and 2016 has been another year of impressive growth, cementing the company’s position as the world’s largest fashion retailer. Net sales for the six months to 31 July rose 11% year on year to €10.47bn (£8.98bn). The group, whose fascias include Zara, Pull & Bear and Massimo Dutti, had expanded its reach into a total of 92 markets by the end of the period, including Vietnam. It now has 7,096 stores worldwide, including 112 in the UK. But this year, the focus has been on digital growth – Inditex now operates online in 39 markets, up from 29 last year. This multichannel approach has been vital to its continuing success.
