Womenswear chain Roman, perhaps best known for #TheDress social media sensation last year, has been steadily building a serious retail portfolio and now boasts 150 UK stores and 140 concessions.
By the end of 2016, its low-profile managing director Rick Christodoulou estimates the business will sell around 3.5 million garments a year.
In autumn this year, Christodoulou and his brother and co-founder Peter led the relaunch of the Dusk womenswear brand in selected Roman stores and online. The occasionwear brand was one of the 12 labels it acquired from CDU, which went into administration in 2011.
The remaining brands and of course Roman provide lots of scope for Christodoulou to rise again in 2017.
