Peter Youell makes his debut on the Top 100 as Skechers continues to strengthen its hold on the footwear market.
In March, Skechers launched its new European flagship on London’s Oxford Street, signalling the brand’s increasing UK presence. In its latest set of results the brand reported a “resurgence” in UK sales. Global sales for the nine months to 30 September were $3.2bn (£2.4bn), and gross profit was $1.5bn (£1.1bn).
As it continues to expand across Europe with new stores in Italy and Amsterdam, the business is creeping up on its competitors. Sold in 160 territories worldwide, it has almost 2,500 standalone and third-party stores, plus wholesale partners including House of Fraser and Debenhams.
Skechers also took home the prize for Mainstream Brand of the Year at the Drapers Footwear Awards in May.
