The Duchess of Sussex

The Royal family has long wielded considerable influence over the UK fashion industry, and this year was no exception.

The spotlight was mostly centred on the Duchess of Sussex, former Suits actress Meghan Markle, who chose a minimalist bateau-neck Givenchy gown for her wedding to Prince Harry and a halter-neck Stella McCartney dress for the evening celebration.

Brands, retailers and industry experts told Drapers both dresses would have a significant impact on bridal and occasionwear trends for many months to come.
