Clare Hornby, founder, Me + Em

Premium womenswear label Me + Em was set up in 2009 by Claire Hornby and has since made its name with its polished, feminine “affordable luxury” offer.

Me + Em opened its first concession in department store Selfridges’s London flagship in September, as well as a store on New Cavendish street in January and on Chelsea’s Draycott Avenue in mid-February.

Hornby started her career in the Harrods marketing department before working for a agencies. She  says she creates “functional, flattering and fashionable” clothing for the brand’s rapidly increasing number of fans.

Me + Em counts Bella Freud, Alexa Chung and Carphone Warehouse founder Sir Charles Dunstone among its investors, and raised more than £1.3m through a crowdfunding campaign in 2017.
