Ben Francis, co-founder and chief brand officer, Gymshark

Teenage entrepreneur Ben Francis started Gymshark while still studying at Aston University in 2012 and has since built the fitness brand into a multi-million retail force to be reckoned with.

The combination of social media savvy, a network of fitness influencers and an innate understanding of the kind of product its customers want has built Gymshark an army of loyal fans. The business now employs more than 160 people and moved into a custom-built 42,000 sq ft headquarters in April this year.

Turnover for the 12 months to 31 July 2017 more than trebled year on year to £40.5m, and is set to hit £100m for its current financial year. Profit before tax rocketed to £8.2m, up from £1.1m the previous year.
