Maria Raga, CEO, Depop

Social shopping platform Depop is part social network, part second-hand clothing marketplace. It has proved a hit among price- and sustainability-conscious young shoppers – most of its users are aged under 25.

Raga, at the helm of Depop since 2016, helped it to secure $20m (£15.2m) in a series B funding round at the start of this year, which was led by venture capital firm Octopus Ventures and also included technology specialist TempoCap and Balderton. 

Depop is using the money to go international, opening stores in New York and LA this year and bolstering its US team from six to 12 over the past year.
