As the owner of brands Gucci, Saint Laurent and Balenciaga, Kering’s influence and impact is immense, and its profits and ambitions for the future are no less impressive.
With Pinault at the helm, the luxury brand house has continued to drive growth across its brands. Its most recent results show a 27.6% rise in third-quarter revenues to €3.4bn (£3bn).
In November, Kering made the ambitious announcement that it plans to bring its ecommerce in house, and will develop its own transactional websites for brands by 2020, bringing to an end a seven-year partnership with Yoox Net-a-Porter Group. Digital revenues currently account for 6% of the group’s total retail sales.
Beyond its style success, Pinault has focused on becoming a leader in sustainability, and committed to ambitious targets for emissions reductions, and funding innovations in new materials.
Methodology and findings are shared throughout the business and externally, and Kering is leading the campaign to embed sustainability into the fashion industry at large.
