Ulric Jerome, CEO, Matchesfashion

As 2017 came to an end, a new era began at Matchesfashion after founders Tom and Ruth Chapman sold a majority stake in the business to Apax Partners for a rumoured £800m.

Leading the business today is Ulric Jerome. With his background in tech, Jerome became CEO at the retailer back in 2015, and has been pushing the boundaries of tech innovation in the luxury retail space ever since. This year it opened a new, 500,000 sq ft distribution centre that can ship 4 million orders a year and enables 90-minute delivery in London.

It also opened an innovative new retail space – 5 Carlos Place, in Mayfair – in September, which features exclusive items, in-store events and technology linking the store to online.
