After featuring in Drapers’ 30 Under 30 list of rising stars in January 2018, CEO Umar Kamani has led his fast fashion retailer Pretty-LittleThing (PLT) on another meteoric rise this year.
Sales in the six months to 31 August 2018 soared 132% to £168.6m.
PLT kicked off its marketing initiatives in January announcing a year-long partnership with pop culture TV channel E! Entertainment Television. It has since launched celebrity collaborations including Ashley Graham and Hailey Baldwin, the latter garnering praise for its inclusive campaign.
The retailer now has 10.5 million followers on Instagram and continues to lead the way in terms of social engagement.
Over the summer, PLT moved out of the space it occupied in parent company Boohoo Group’s warehouse and into its own 615,000 sq ft facility in Sheffield, allowing it to increase capacity to meet the growing demand for its product.
