Kim Jones, artistic director, Dior Men

British-born designer Kim Jones kicked 2018 off with a bang, setting fashion’s rumour mill spinning with the January announcement that he would be leaving his position as men’s artistic director of French fashion house Louis Vuitton after seven years.

In March it was revealed that he was to become artistic director of Dior’s menswear division, replacing Kris Van Assche.

During his tenure at Louis Vuitton, the Central Saint Martins graduate balanced a modern take on luxury with season-defining trends, blending tailoring with his signature take on street and sportswear. The peak of his success came in 2017 when he scored the collaboration of the decade, as Louis Vuitton teamed up with cult skate brand Supreme.

And Jones has wasted no time in making his mark at Dior – now renamed Dior Men. His debut collection for spring 19, which reworked classic Dior logos, womenswear styles and a fresh take on traditional tailoring, stood out as a highlight of 2018.
