The 29-year-old designer set up his independent label in Paris with no formal training and has turned his business into an international winner and buyer’s favourite, thanks to his idiosyncratic designs and penchant for Instagram-friendly product.

This year, Jacquemus celebrated his brand’s 10th anniversary with one of the most Instagrammed fashion events of 2019. Decamping from Paris Fashion Week, he held his spring 20 catwalk show among the lavender fields of Provence on a 400-metre-long, pink catwalk – social media catnip that created a buzz picked up by news outlets outside the industry.

His Le Chiquito super-mini-handbag was a bestseller this year, while his women’s and men’s ready-to-wear lines – the latter of which launched for spring 19 – have gone from strength to strength.
