ACS Clothing appoints Teresa Robson-Capps as chairwoman

Europe’s largest independent supplier of formal hirewear ACS Clothing has hired Teresa Robson-Capps as its chairwoman, as the company expands its operations.

ACS Clothing has exclusive supplier agreements with Debenhams, Austin Reed, Greenwoods, Slaters Menswear and Burton as well as its own brand Cameron Ross.

Robson-Capps’ appointment is the latest corporate development at ACS, following an £8.5m investment in January by the Business Growth Fund to assist the company in expanding its operations and investing in its multichannel offering.

Robson-Capps was previously deputy head of HSBC Direct Bank. She was also held roles at Accenture and Cable & Wireless.

Located in purpose-built facilities spanning 190,000 sq ft outside Glasgow, the £11.5m business, which was set up in 1997 by Richard Freedman and his father Josep, employs around 100 people. ACS stocks more than three million garments and processed in the region of 400,000 UK orders during 2013.
