The business will bolster its branded line-up, which includes D&G, Ralph Lauren, Scotch & Soda and No Added Sugar, with the addition of Burberry this spring.

Alexandalexa.com has been trading for 18 months and sales over the nine weeks to January 25 were up 330% year on year. Average basket value increased by 9% over the period and shopper conversion rate was up 65% year on year.

Alexandalexa.com chief executive Alex Theophanous said: “We remain cautiously optimistic about the outlook for Alexandalexa.com in 2009. We believe our luxury brands and the internet are proving resilient to the current economic climate. We envisage putting more investment into key strategies to deliver further growth in 2009.”
