Aquascutum to expand internationally with new licensing deal

Luxury British heritage brand Aquascutum is to step up its international expansion with a licensing deal for continental Europe, Russia and the Middle East.

Aquascutum will today ink a six year licensing deal with manufacturing and licensing firm Ittierre.

The deal will see the Aquascutum brand expand outside the UK with the first collections from the partnership due for autumn 12.

Earlier this year it was announced that the brand would open its first standalone stores overseas with stores in Milan and Rome opening over the next 12 months.

The brand, which is owned by Harold Tillman, chairman of the British Fashion Council, and chief executive Belinda Earl also plans to expand in the UK with five stores scheduled for London.

Ittierre has recently been stepping up its partnerships and last month announced it would produce and distribute designer Karl Lagerfeld’s new signature collection, Karl Lagerfeld Paris which will launch for autumn 12.
