Are you the oldest indie retailer?

Laurie Maskall, founder of indie Laurie Maskall Menswear in Sunbury-on-Thames, Middlesex, is celebrating his 66th year in the menswear trade.

He is just one of many people who have dedicated their working lives to independent fashion retail, and his story is echoed at independents across the UK and Republic of Ireland – and now Drapers wants to hear your story.

As part of our celebration of Great British Fashion later this year, Drapers is searching high and low to find the oldest trading independent store in the country and the oldest person still working within an indie.

Did you join the trade straight from school, like Maskall, only breaking your retail career to serve in the Second World War?

Have you opened your store every morning for more than 50 years? Has your business been passed down through your family, from generation to generation?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes, let us know by contacting Ana Santi by email at ana.santi@emap.com or by calling 020 7728 3529, or you can write to us at Drapers, Greater London House, London NW1 7EJ.
