August..shouldn't it have been quiet?

How lovely to be asked to blog for Drapers - my absolute favourite read! I’ll be posting an update every week (and sometimes more often….) but let’s begin with August..shouldn’t it have been quiet?

We started the month (almost) with a champagne reception in The Bombay Sapphire Bar at to launch the outdoor film season. Penelope Cruz and Pedro Almodovar introduced “Broken Embraces” and with Vicki Day and Daisy de Villeneuve we sat on padded blankets snuggled under the stars! We are all waiting with bated breath for the launch of London Fashion Week in September at Somerset House  - it really is a stunning venue and we have got a fantastic line-up this season!

Last week was hectic and at The London College of Fashion and Puma Party (exhibition held LCF Carnaby 65-67 Broadwick St. until 30th August) to celebrate their joint fashion project we took over the street - it was so hot but great fun as we listened to fabulous Goldierocks and Frankmusik.

August has also been a month of fabulous sales with extra discounts (the only benefit of the credit crunch!) .. my favourite eavesdrop was in the store of a particularly gorgeous brand..the customer, piled high with purchases, asked a beautiful sales boy ” What would you take off for cash?” Beautiful Boy ” Everything but my earrings sir!” There is still some superb bargains to be had but if you want a great snapshot of the autumn/winter fashion season check out Dover St Market and do search out the wonderous Ferragamo collection of revival of the historic designs for icons of style..

Lunching last week with the amazing Jessica Price Brown, Drapers new Editor, meant that I was able to learn more about some of her exciting new plans for Drapers..I know I just cant wait!

ps : BKS ( best kept secret) Fantastic 70% off Temperley, See by Chloe, Missoni and many more at Blossom Mother and Child (for stores see ) is so much more than maternity and childrenswear!!
