Becksöndergaard appoints new chief executive

Danish scarf and accessories label Becksöndergaard has appointed Lars Andresen as its new chief executive as the company seeks further international growth.

Andresen joins the business from contemporary womenswear label By Malene Birger where he was chief executive since June 2008. He replaces Lesia Zuk who held the role as chief executive for just over a year.

Andresen said: “Becksöndergaard is a strong Danish brand with a clear profile, which has succeeded in establishing itself in a number of markets in Europe and Japan and I look very much forward to becoming a part of Becksöndergaard.”

In 2013 the company, which is currently stocked in 15 countries, received investment from Swedish equity fund Valedo. Becksöndergaard is stocked in 120 outlets in the UK including St Albans womenswear indie The Dressing Room.
