Belstaff sets record for highest rent on Bond Street

Belstaff has set a record for the highest rent around Bond Street, shelling out £3m for a 25,000 sq ft store.

The Labelux-owned brand has taken on a 20 year lease, paying an unprecedented £3m for the Grade II listed building, six-floor building at 135-137 New Bond Street. It will be re-named Belstaff House.

The Belstaff headquarters - previously based in Italy - will see the brand neighbouring other luxury labels including Miu Miu, Hublot, Coach, Fendi and Tori Burch.

Anthony Selwyn, retail director at Savills and the freeholder’s agent, said that the deal demonstrates the continued expansion northwards of the prime pitch on Bond Street.

Charlie Hammond of HDG on behalf of the freeholder added: “This letting demonstrates the demand from global luxury brands for major flagship stores on Bond Street. It also highlights the sustained importance of Bond Street to the luxury sector and its continued buoyancy.”

Cushman & Wakefield acted for Belstaff.
