‘Best of British’ for Burlington Arcade

Jimmy Choo and Lulu Guinness will open stores at The Burlington Arcade in London’s Mayfair this autumn as part of a rejuvenation of the retail mix at the historic shopping parade.

Luxury accessories label Lulu Guinness will open a 502 sq ft store in September during Vogue’s Fashion Night Out shopping event. Jimmy Choo will unveil its first men’s footwear concept store in November, coinciding with the luxury brand’s 25th birthday. The store will be 300 sq ft.

European investment management firm Meyer Bergman and US venture capital partner Thor Equities, which acquired the historic Arcade last year from an offshore family trust, said the partnership’s strategy was to attract “Best of British” luxury brands.

The owners are also in talks with a Savile Row tailor to update the uniforms of the Arcade’s footmen, known as Beadles.
