BFA announces increased trade show support for members

The British Footwear Association (BFA) has announced its most comprehensive tradeshow support package for footwear brands.

From next season the industry body will launch designated micro sites for each show, giving information on all of the brands exhibiting there.

These sites will link with both the main BFA website and each of the individual exhibition sites and this will be reinforced by an email campaign targeted at both retail buyers and potential sales agents and distributors.

The BFA has also developed a new international PR strategy and communications programme to support this, including increased PR support at the events, through collaborations with organisers in Italy and the USA.

The association already provides its member brands with marketing support to attend the industry’s key footwear tradeshows including Micam in Milan in March and FN Platform in Vegas in February.

Chief executive Richard Kottler said: “This is the most comprehensive and innovative programme of support we have ever offered our members.

“All of the exporting companies will benefit from the tremendous range of activities designed to increase buyer footfall and to attract potential sales agents and distributors across many international markets.”

The BFA is the official partner of this year’s Drapers Footwear and Accessories awards which takes place on April 24 at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
