BFA launches Accelerated Development Programme

Industry body the British Footwear Association (BFA) has launched the first edition of its Accelerated Development Programme (ADP), an extension of its mentoring programme.

The ADP will offer assistance to up-and-coming footwear brands, helping them to achieve profitable growth and setting them up for the future.

As part of the programme, each of the companies selected to participate will be paired with an experienced industry mentor who will work with them for a year, giving them guidance.

The companies selected to be the first participants in the scheme are Beyond Skin, Joanne Stoker, Laidback London, Northern Cobbler and Zoe Lee.

“This breakthrough programme consolidates and extends the BFA’s commitment to helping companies in their early stages of development, and to assist them in establishing themselves as well known international brands,” said Richard Kottler chief executive of the BFA.

“We have been fortunate in being able to call on the experience and time of a number of highly respected industry figures, all of whom agreed to go through a specially designed training course on mentoring techniques and skills, specific to the industry.”
