Roksanda Ilincic, Mary Katrantzou, Nicholas Kirkwood, Peter Pilotto and Emilia Wickstead are among those shortlisted for next year’s British Fashion Council and Vogue Designer Fashion Fund.
The initiative provides one designer with a mentoring support programme over a twelve month period, as well as a £200,000 grant to assist them in taking their business to the next stage.
It is now in its fourth year and previous winners include Erdem, Christopher Kane and Jonathan Saunders.
Alexandra Shulman, editor of British Vogue and chair of the Fund Committee, said: “We have an incredibly strong short list of contenders for the fund. It is wonderful to see the impressive talent coming out of London that has reached a stage in their business where they can qualify for the prize.”
“The high standard of applications and presentations demonstrates the growing number of both highly creative and professional fashion businesses we have here in London and the great potential for growth in this sector,” added Caroline Rush chief executive of the British Fashion Council.
The winner of the 2013 award will be announced on Januray 29, 2013.
