Quality, comfort and luxury are the bywords of 130-year-old brand Hanro.
Swiss underwear and loungewear brand Hanro’s foundation of passion for product, high-quality natural fibres and an eye for detail has endured for more than a century.
In 1884 Albert Handschin and Carl Ronus founded a knitwear factory in Liestal, Switzerland, making quality underwear on specially developed machines. Today, Hanro’s team still designs by hand and continues to win over customers with their focus on luxurious fabrics and fit.
High-quality fabrics are at the heart of the brand. Hanro only processes hand-picked cottons such as pima or Egyptian giza, as well as the finest merino wool, silk and Swiss cotton yarns and threads.
The creativity and precision of the brand are reflected in its lace and embroidery. Stylish details such as St Gallen embroidery or French Leavers lace are handcrafted by Hanro designers in co-operation with European manufacturers. Hanro’s ranges are entirely made in Europe. All lace is sewn by hand and close needle stitching creates the precise and flat seams the brand is known for.
Innovation also pays a key role. Seamless and hemless finishes, soft mercerisation – a treatment that strengthens cotton threads – and the very closest stitching requirements are just a few developments Hanro has implemented.
All the ranges have Öko-Tex standard 100 certification and “Textiles Vertrauen” certification. For Hanro’s autumn 17 women’s collection, a desire for relaxation in modern society is reflected in the contemporary, laid-back design. The lingerie, nightwear and loungewear is stripped back to the essential to express the wearer’s self-confidence in a natural way. The soft, warm winter materials are paired with graphic embroideries, floral ornamental laces, and tulle.
Wholesale prices range from £4 for a basic thong to £70 for luxury cashmere.
The need to escape the stress of everyday life is also expressed in the autumn 17 men’s collection. The range features classic cotton fabrics with a subtle sheen in jersey, woven or chambray, as well as more voluminous, woollen fabrics in a tweed look. The collection includes woven flannels, wool and silk blends, jacquards and reversible styles.
Hanro says comfort and quality are the new understanding of luxury, a fact that can be seen across its designs. Each product reflects the brand’s passion, technological expertise and precision in craftsmanship. The result is a timeless elegance and incomparable quality.
