See all of the latest styles from footwear brand G.H. Bass & Co’s must-have autumn 17 men’s and women’s collections.
The legendary 1936-designed Bass Weejuns have been given a very modern makeover, with new colour options on the leather outsole for autumn 17, which are both feminine and contemporary. Sub-categories within the Weejuns line extend the options and add a key new design focus.
Weejuns Wheel of Colour
Four new colour additions build on last season’s superbly received selection. Patent red and dark grey headline, followed by some standout new patent metallic options in copper and pewter.
Colour slide options, again in patent red, dark grey, copper and pewter, nod to the catwalk trend for mules to give another take on the moccasin classic. The slides also come with a kiltie and tassel detail in classic black and wine.
Originally introduced in the 1930s, the Monograms collection elevates the brand and gives it a dressier more formal appeal in range of models that can be worn with a sharp suit or more casually with selvedge jeans. The autumn 17 offer uses Goodyear-welted construction out of a long-established traditional footwear factory, while new lasts and leathers from leading Spanish tanneries offered the ultimate upgrade. There are high-shine leather Derby and brogue styles in classic black or wine with leather sole, a Dainite sole Derby in pull-up tan or brown leather and chocolate brown suede, and a high-shine apron ankle boot with leather sole. An apron ankle boot in pull-up leather on a Dainite sole completes the offering.
Outdoor Quail Hunter
A resounding success last winter, the outdoor collection has been expanded to include the all-new Quail Razor – a six-eyelet Goodyear-welted boot with a lightweight razor outsole, which was originally created by GH Bass in the 1950s for extra grip for walking up hills and on tough terrain. The upper features combines three materials for a stunning look: a new oiled pull-up leather; an oiled crazy horse leather; and a waxy canvas. The original Quail Hunter also continues, but with the addition of a mid-boot in suede and a shoe version to hit the casualwear market in some style, available in black, brown and tan.
Another new introduction for autumn 17 is the Goodyear-welted Work Boot. Once again delving in to the rich G.H. Bass & Co archive to reproduce the “Cush-N-Crepe” outsole first introduced in the 1950s, the boots look super-sturdy, and yet are so much lighter than full-on heavyweight crepe, superbly flexible and have enhanced comfort. All the styles come with an EVA-moulded foot bed and extra strength heavy stitching. Available in plain-toe seven inch boot and a chukka style boot in the all-new oiled pull-up leather to resist the elements. Tough looking, but easy wearing, the Work Boot comes in black, brown and tan.
