British footwear brands enjoy success at FN Platform

This season’s footwear tradeshow FN Platform at Magic has been hailed as one of the most successful yet.

British brands exhibiting at the show, which took place at Las Vegas’ Convention Centre from February 19-21, reported a busy show with many picking up orders from big US retailers including Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and Urban Outfitters.

US department store giant Nordstrom took up accounts with men’s brands Frank Wright and Oliver Sweeney during the three day trade show in Las Vegas.

Contemporary women’s footwear brand Miista Shoes, which is already stocked by the store, will be extended to another 10 key doors across the US taking the brand to over 60 doors in the US.

Hudson, which is also already stocked in Nordstrom, boosted its order sheet while also picking up an account at Bloomingdales.

For autumn 13, a total of 29 British footwear brands exhibited at FN Platform including ethical brand Beyond Skin, contemporary women’s brand Esska and comfort footwear brand Steptronic.

Richard Kottler, chief executive of the British Footwear Association, which supports British footwear brands showing at international tradeshows, said: “We had a fantastic show in Vegas and we are looking forward to Micam in Milan next week.”
